His work explores the poetic connections between human and non-human species in a multidisciplinary context, and he is good at building critical discussions through material narratives to promote changes in everyday life under ecological transition. His issues include multi-species coexistence, Material ecology critique, post-humanism, and craft research.
 
Liu Gongjie's works are exhibited internationally, and he also connects with a wide range of readers through his columns. He is seeking to develop local creations through residency programs and establish cooperation with museums/contemporary art institutions.
